So yesterday, I took it a little easy. With Tropical Storm Cindy approaching, my focus was on preparation. I kept my caloric intake around 1500 and did get a little anxious. Around 9p, I went into my at-home gym and went a few rounds on my Century punching bag, which I must admit was a great investment. Today is going to be different and intense by my standards. I found a great boxing warm-up for beginners ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVj2ep46UlE ) and a pretty nice 20-minute heavy bag workout ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHKf8SkjaNk&t=8s ) on Youtube. I downloaded the two and created a workout playlist that I will tackle today around noon. I will follow that with a 1-2 mile brisk walk on my treadmill. Later tonight, I will hit the weights ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXDsFQYC3pQ ). I will post my results in my next post.
So, I never acknowledged exactly how I plan to go about my fast. So, here goes. I am cutting bread completely out of my diet. I am aware that there are many other sources of carbs. This is not a "carb thing," This is strictly about self-control. I will also be creating a major caloric deficit daily. I will dedicate each day to exercise cardio (S, T, TH, S) and weightlifting (M, W, F). I must keep in mind that this is my journey. I am not seeking anyone's approval or criticism. This morning, I decided to keep a personal blog. I am on day six of a 50-day fast. This is a personal journey. One that I have decided to take to become closer to God and to find my true self. I want to find happiness and peace. Three years ago, I was very close to my ideal weight. Honestly, I was four pounds shy of reaching 180 lbs., my mark for a 100-pound loss. So, yes. Before my first attempt to lose weight, I weighed 280 lbs. When I began that journey, I had the number "280" tattooed on my upper left arm. It serves as a reminder of where I have been. As I reflect, I ask myself what happened. How did I go from a person who worked out everyday along with counting calories to a person who did absolutely nothing? How was this remotely possible? To answer these questions, I have to look back at what happened during those three years. I moved twice, first in 2014 and next in 2016. My first move was to a Buras, LA, located in the toe of the boot. It only takes one ...
